3 Tips for Spring RV Camping
With spring just around the corner, it’s a great time to start planning your next RV camping trip! However, unlike summer or even fall, spring presents a few unique challenges to campers that you’ll want to be aware of. For tips on how to prepare for your upcoming spring RV vacation, be sure to read our helpful tips below.
Prepare for Rain
If you have plans to go camping this spring, you’ll need to be prepared for rain. Spring is typically the rainiest season out of the four, and you’ll want to be sure that all of your passengers bring along waterproof boots and jackets for hikes. It’s also not a bad idea to grab a few strong boards to place under the wheels of your RV for when it rains. If your parking spot isn’t paved or made of sand, your rig may shift or slide away without the boards to help keep it in place.
Prepare for the Cold
With the rain, you may also see quite a bit of wind and a few cold days while on your trip. Before you leave home, make sure to pack enough warm clothes and a few extra blankets to keep from catching a chill. You may also want to bring along a space heater or purchase some heavy curtains for your RV’s windows to keep your rig warm and insulated even as temperatures drop.
Prepare for Pollen
Camping in the springtime means that many plants are beginning to release pollen, and it may end up affecting your allergies. To keep you from sniffling and coughing for the entire trip, be sure to bring enough of your preferred allergy medication to last for the entire vacation. Because of all the pollen, you may also notice quite a few bugs buzzing around your campsite. While a majority of them will be harmless, it’s not a bad idea to bring a little extra bug spray to protect you from mosquitos or black flies.
