A vacation can actually take a lot out of you, and the last thing you feel like doing after a long drive in your motorhome is to start cleaning. However, to avoid the appearance of pests, and keep your motorhome looking shiny and new, we strongly recommend taking a short moment to give your rig a quick scrub before you head inside to take a breather. For tips on how to get your motorhome back looking spic and span after a long trip, check out our article below.

Tidy Up

Before you grab your rag and cleaning solution, you’ll need to take a moment to declutter your motorhome to ensure you have easy access to all the different spaces you’ll need to clean. To make this as easy as possible, we advise grabbing 3 bags to categorize your items. One bag for trash and perishables, one for items that need to go back into the house, and one for dirty laundry that needs to be washed.

Clean Floors and Counters

With these items out of your way, you’re ready to get started on cleaning your motorhome from top to bottom! While you’re welcome to clean in any order you like, we encourage you to make sure floors are vacuumed and swept, kitchens are wiped down and disinfected to avoid the appearance of pests, and bathroom amenities are thoroughly cleaned and dried to avoid the appearance of mold.

Finishing Up

Once you’ve finished cleaning your motorhome, go around and open all the doors and windows on your rig. Leave these open for a few hours to help ventilate your model and remove any lingering or stinky smells. While your motorhome is being aired we encourage you to take this time to go ahead and dump and clean your fresh, gray, and black water tanks to reduce smell and remove lingering bacteria.
